Tammy R. Dahl, CPA, CA

Tammy graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1996. She qualified as a chartered accountant in 1999 and completed the CICA In-depth Tax program in 2002.  Tammy joined Buchanan Barry LLP in 1996 and the Leadership Group as Partner in 2007.  Tammy provides audit and assurance, accounting, tax and advisory services for a wide range of private and non-profit organizations.

Benjamin W.A. Spademan, CPA, CA

Ben graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1999 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and began employment with Buchanan Barry LLP that same year. He successfully wrote the 2000 UFE and obtained his chartered accountant designation in 2002, completed the CICA In-Depth Tax program in 2003 and completed the CICA In-Depth GAAP program in 2007. Ben joined the Leadership Group as Partner in 2008, and was appointed Managing Partner in 2019. Ben’s primary focus is working with owner-managed businesses by providing assurance and non-assurance services to owner-managed businesses, working closely with them to run their businesses effectively. Ben also has audit experience including public and private companies as well as not-for-
profit organizations.

Mark R. Rintoul, MBA, LL.M

Mark has a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Laws (LL.M) in taxation, both from the Université de Montréal. Prior to joining Buchanan Barry in 2007, Mark practiced taxation with two national accounting firms. Mark joined the Leadership Group as Partner* in 2011. Mark is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and leads the firm’s tax practice.

Rick Laycock, CPA, CA

Rick began his career in 1992 with an international CA firm as an articling student shortly after graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1995 and joined Buchanan Barry LLP in the following year as a Manager until 2001. Rick returned to Buchanan Barry after a 13 year stint with another Calgary mid-sized accounting firm, joining the Leadership Group as Partner in 2014. Rick has more than 20 years of progressive experience. His primary focus is working with owner-managed businesses by providing assurance and non-assurance services, assisting with corporate compliance and tax planning. Rick also has audit experience including private companies and not-for-profit organizations.

Christopher R. Harding, CPA, CA, MPAcc

Chris graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Management degree in 2006 and joined Buchanan Barry LLP that same year.  After graduating with a Master of Professional Accounting degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2008 he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2009 and completed the CICA In-depth Tax program in 2011.  Chris joined the leadership group as Partner in 2017 and is focused on providing assurance, accounting, income tax and business advisory services for a wide range of private, owner-managed, and not-for-profit organizations in various industries.

Amanda Hart, CPA, CA

With over 16 years of experience working with entrepreneurs, Amanda has become a trusted advisor to her clients. She provides specific, strategic guidance to her clients which enables them to make the best choices for the future of their business. Over the years, she has worked with a diverse client base with a focus on accounting and tax for businesses in the professional services, real estate, and construction industries.

Amanda earned a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting from the University of Calgary in 2004 and designated as a Chartered Accountant in 2008. Prior to joining Buchanan Barry, Amanda spent her career at two mid-sized national accounting firms.

Besides tax and accounting, Amanda’s favorite things are spending time with her family and her beloved puppy Lita, travelling, hiking and sports. It is her and her partner’s goal to see a live baseball game at every stadium in North America. So far, she has made it to 14 of the 30!
